Leovillo Dela Cruz Agustin stands tall among them, a beacon of integrity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to justice.

Born in the coastal town of Ballesteros, Cagayan, Atty. Agustin’s journey is one that exemplifies the true essence of a servant-leader. From humble beginnings as the son of a Vice-Mayor and a public school teacher, his upbringing instilled in him the virtues of hard work, honesty, and empathy. These values formed the bedrock of his illustrious career that spanned over six decades.

At the heart of Atty. Agustin’s legacy is his steadfast dedication to providing free legal aid to the marginalized and vulnerable. Dubbed the “Poor Man’s Lawyer,” he tirelessly championed the cause of justice for those who could not afford legal representation. His pioneering work in this field earned him national acclaim, culminating in the prestigious 1979 TOYM Award for Law Practice and Legal Aid. This accolade not only recognized his legal acumen but also celebrated his profound impact on Philippine society.

Beyond his legal prowess, Atty. Agustin is a member of the Upsilon Sigma Phi fraternity, Batch ’58, at the University of the Philippines.
